Disk Images Archive is the preferred and standard way on the Mac to store and send group of files compacted in a single file.
It uses a format universally recognized by any Mac.
Clicking an archive, results in it be mounted by Mac OS X as virtual disk on any Mac (no additional software required).
DMG Master is a software to create standard Disk Image Archive recognized by any Mac, with just one click.

The unique 'document based' approach used by DMG Master lets the user save a lot of time in the use of the software if compared with the tipical 'utility' approach.
In the utility approach
usually the user have to drag and drop the source to use to make the archive, specify where to save, the name to use, compression level, encryption and so on.
All this repeated anytime the user likes to create a new archive.
Using DMG Master the user has to do that just one time and save all the settings in a document.
After that, the user opens the document from disk and press the 'Make Disk Image' button. The disk image is created on the fly with the updated content.
DMG Master can manage an unlimited number of documents to create and update an unlimited number of archive.
Archives and DMG Master documents are different files. The user uses a DMG Master document to create an archive which is another file on disk. The user will reuse the document to create the archive if the original source was updated. |
|
| |
|
The user can create documents containing:
- Specifications about the list of the files to include inside the archive to create
- The name of the archive with datetime tag inside (solved at built time)
- The location on your hard Disk where to save the image archive
- The option to overwrite an existant archive
- The compression level
- Encrypted archive or not
- If encrypted the password to use
- To save in the document the password (or not) used to encrypt the archive (it will never saved inside the archive!)
DMG Master has various features, as example you can specify to have image archive created with name embedding also time date tag elements (useful for data backups)
As an example if the user inserts an image name 'Backup<yy><mm><dd>' the resulting image name will be 'Backup090410' if you are creating the archive on April 10, 2009 (tag are solved when the Image archive creation starts)

The user doesn't need to have all the sources of a image archive placed inside a single folder, he can choose various files and folder in various place on the Hard Disk and DMG Master will use them to create a single image archive containing a copy of all the files leaving the original untouched and unmodified.
The user can select in the preferences to perform a specific action at startup, opening a specified document or opening a new one.
It is possible to save the password used for the image inside a document, to avoid having to retype it.
DMG Master can be useful to create archives for different purposes:
- Release software as software developers
- Make generic backup of your data
- Make backup for remote server archiving
- Store data on a ftp server
- Sending reserved data via the net
- Using GMail as a backup server (sending to your gmail account archives as email attachment)
- Storing files on external devices
We invite you to download DMG Master and try it
